Great food, at your place!
Due to Covid many visitors to Speyside have opted to stay in self catering accommodation. With many restaurants and pubs being closed Speyside Tours were being asked about dinner options! We want you to enjoy your time in Speyside, relax and enjoy being out and about exploring this wonderful part of the country, knowing you can come back to a freshly prepared dinner using ingredients from Speyside's extensive larder.
SO! As Michelle loves cooking, is passionate about using local and foraged ingredients and makes everything from scratch Speyside Tours decided to formalise their food offerings! Groups/families, large or small can be catered for with menus being customised to suit your group. Rest assured that all food allergies will be taken into consideration. All aspects of your dinner will be homemade, from the chutneys to the terrines to the pastry for the foraged tarts!
Here is an example of a menu we created for a recent group:
Starter of Isle of Mull cheddar and ham croquettes with local plum dipping sauce OR warm langoustine salad with foraged greens
Main course of slow cooked pheasant with chanterelle mushrooms and skirlie! OR salmon with gorgeous wild sorrel sauce, accompanied by potato gratin and seasonal veg
Dessert of foraged fruit(gooseberry, blaeberry, bramble or mirabelle) and vanila custard tart finished with local roasted hazlenuts OR local cheeses with homemade chutneys
End your dinner with a Speyside whisky pairing, 3 whiskies paired with 3 different Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier truffles.
Prices vary, on average it works out at around £30 per person for a menu similar to the one above. However, please get in touch to discuss your customised dinner.
